We headed across the Rhine River and into France. Our destination was Colmar, a fascinating small city with old world charm. We strolled by grand sandstone cathedrals, timber style buildings, some of which were older that the United States themselves. The city center was criss-crossed by small streets and alleys home to hundreds of tiny shops, cafes and curiosities. We shopped, dined, drank, sipped, talked, laughed and shopped some more all while thoroughly immersing ourselves in the culture. On the way home Heather had been wanting to stop, forever she said, to photograph the wild poppies growing along some of the farm fields on the way home. As you can see we all enjoyed snapping some pictures, some of the flowers some of each other.
